12 Principles for Travel

April 26, 2023

Travel can be one of the most enriching, eye-opening and transformational experiences of your life. Before finding my own love of travel, I was failing most of my uni subjects and mostly just drifting through life.

Travel gave me the motivation to do more with my time, so that I would have more time for travel!
It’s taught me so much, but only because I was open to receiving the lessons…and that required that I approached my travels in a way that let me get the most out of them.

So how do you get the most out of travel?

To put it simply…

Be open-minded, don’t be quick to judge, and always try to give back

Now that’s easy to say, but maybe not so easy to do when you’re somewhere you’re uncomfortable, you have no friends to lean on, you don’t speak the language, and you’re in unfamiliar situations.

SO!

To help you develop into a sophisticated, but considerate traveler, I have created 12 Principles of Travel.

Think of these as your 12 travel commandments!

They are values to guide your actions wherever you may go…

I hope that they help you develop your own ethos of compassion, care and respect for the people and places you visit…

AND HELP YOU HAVE A WICKED TIME!

They are all currently live, but if you like to be kept in suspense, or you don’t more than 10 mins to spare in a day, don’t worry! Over the next 12 days, I will be releasing one principle at a time. Posts will be going live at 12pm AEST.

I hope you enjoy them, and they help you in your adventures!

To get the ball rolling, here’s my first principle…
