Humility

Thou shalt put others needs before your own wherever possible, be gracious, show appreciation, and strive to elevate and encourage those around you.

Humility means not always putting yourself first… It means have the good grace to not have to talk yourself up. Mostly though, it means showing that you appreciate that there are things, and people, in the world that are bigger and more important than yourself.

Be Humble.

Even if you dragged yourself up from nothing, to the shining success you are today, you still need to give credence to the good circumstance or good fortune that brought you to the point where you can afford to travel!

In my experience, it is mostly where you came from, and to whom you are born that are the biggest factors in whether you can afford travel…

So keep that in mind the next time you’re somewhere less fortunate or you meet someone who wishes they could travel but doesn’t have the means.

I write this blog so that I can help and inspire everyone to take the leap and work towards their own dream trip, whatever they are and wherever they may be….

But I’m humble enough to know that I can’t possibly reach everyone.

I hope those that do read this, take something from these principles and try to reach out to someone else and pass the knowledge along.

Challenge:

Pass the credit.

Everyone enjoys a compliment!

Whilst it feels great to hear people show appreciation for things you’ve done or who you are, it’s important to remember that you didn’t get here on your own!

So, the next time someone compliments you on something, pass the credit along to someone who helped you achieve what you’re being complimented on.

If someone says you have lovely hair, tell them how you mother taught you how to take care of it. If they thank you for offering your seat to them on a train, regale them with a story of how you Grandparents taught you proper courtesy.
